The seventh day of the campaign to mark the observance of Indian Organ Donation Day on 27th November saw an enthusiastic response to the awareness camp organized in new OPD block in PGIMER with 132 people pledging for organ donation and over 600 counseled about the cause.

Prof A.K. Gupta, Medical Superintendent-cum-HoD Hospital Administration during his visit to the camp, stated, “As people from all across the region come to PGIMER for treatment, educating them or their attendants will have cascading impact to a larger base of people.”

It was all the more heartening to note that some of the patients already undergone transplant or waitlisted for transplantation were seen promoting the cause with actually reaching out to people and motivating them to pledge for organ donation.
